Sunny’s Callicoon Pop: An Upstate Shop from Sunrise Ruffalo

A couple of weeks ago, our architect friend Oliver Freundlich emailed us to let us know about his client Sunrise Ruffalo’s Sunny’s Callicoon Pop in upstate New York: “Sunny and her husband, Mark, have a country house in the area (they used to be full-timers). Sunny’s taste is fantastic and she’s a lot of fun,” he wrote. Of course we immediately headed over to her shop’s Instagram account and liked what we saw.

Sunny created her storybook shop on the theory that “everything can be beautiful,” as she says. Refurbished vintage furniture mingles with handmade housewares, one-of-a-kind clothing and outsider art to tell the story of Sunny’s many inspirations; her childhood in New Orleans, life in Los Angeles and New York City, and all the collaborators she has met along the way.

N.B.: The shop, located at 21 Lower Main St., in Callicoon, NY, will be online later this summer.
